Steven Hoffman, Co-founder of LOHAS Journal and the annual LOHAS Forum, brings 30 years of expertise and contacts within the natural and organic industry as Managing Partner. He is a master wordsmith and savvy marketer fueled by a passion for all things green and sustainable.
Steve is Co-owner of Best Organics LLC, a leading organic gift company, and serves as Chair of Naturally Boulder, an economic development initiative established by the City of Boulder to promote the growth of natural and organic businesses in the region.
Steve served as Managing Director of The Organic Center, a national nonprofit research and education institute, from 2007 – 2010. He is the former national Marketing Director and Rocky Mountain regional Sales Manager for Arrowhead Mills. Steve served for more than eight years as the Editorial Director of Natural Foods Merchandiser, a leading trade magazine published by New Hope Natural Media and as Education Director for Natural Products Expo. He served as President of People Planet Profit Colorado, now CORE Colorado, the state’s leading sustainable business association.
Steve served in the Peace Corps in Central America, and is fluent in Spanish. He received a M.S. in Agriculture from Pennsylvania State University, and as director of the Urban Gardening Program in Philadelphia in the mid-1980s, oversaw the establishment of more than 120 community food gardens in two years in low-income areas of city.
Seleyn DeYarus as Managing Partner brings 26 years of dedication as an advocate for protecting and educating on the value of healthy lifestyles for us and our planet. She has a breadth of knowledge in integrated communication strategies with a passion for cause marketing and event design and production.
She is co-owner of Best Organics, LLC, an organic and eco-friendly brand promotion and gift company. She is the former Development Director for The Organic Center, a national nonprofit based in Boulder, CO. Seleyn wrote, directed and produced six educational videos in national circulation, and appeared on TV as an Organic Expert on the Fine Living Network’s Big Green Lies show. Seleyn served as Producer of the Naturally Boulder Days annual entrepreneurs conferences in 2006 and 2007, and currently produces a series of “At the Epicenter” events in Boulder, including one that recently featured renowned climate hero, author and 350.org co-founder, Bill McKibben.
Seleyn is co-founder of the Center for Holistic Inquiry in the Netherlands, and a former environmental consultant for international business strategist Booz Allen Hamilton. Seleyn was elected president of the student body at the University of Tennessee, where she met President Ronald Reagan, and was invited to serve as a speech writing research intern in the Reagan White House.
Currently, Seleyn serves on the Board of Directors of AllergyKids Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping harmful chemicals out of kids’ diets and environment, and the Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center. She also serves on the Prairie Dog Coalition Steering Committee of the Humane Society USA.
